Miffy loves to celebrate the holidays and is really excited for Thanksgiving! From creating homemade turkeys to decorating pancakes shaped like turkeys, Miffy’s created some simple and fun activities for her friends!
Supplies For All Activities
For Turkey Drawing
- Colored construction paper
- Crayons (orange, yellow, red, black and brown)
For Turkey Puppet
- 1 plate, piece of cardboard or stiffer paper
- 1 glue stick or tape
- 1 popsicle stick
For “Turkey” Pancakes
- Pancake mix and relevant ingredients (please use directions on back of mix or choose preferred recipe)
- 2 blueberries
- 1 banana
- 1 raspberry
- Veggie sticks, carrots or pretzels
Turkey Puppet
Place a right hand (yours or your children’s hand) palm down on top of construction paper. With brown crayon, outline the hand. On the thumb, draw an eye, a beak and a snood (also known as a gobble!). Using alternating colors, color the other four fingers. You can stop there or create your own Thanksgiving-themed puppet!

Cut out turkey shape, and glue it to cardboard, thick card stock or a plate. Cut around the turkey outline. Tape or glue a popsicle stick to the bottom of the turkey.

Turkey Pancakes
Make pancakes according to directions on the mix. Add two blueberries for eyes, ½ a clementine piece for a beak, a raspberry for a snood (also known as a gobble!). Cut a banana in half and in half again. Use 3-4 banana pieces for feathers and break a pretzel, veggie stick or carrots into feet and add. Take a bite and enjoy!

Turkey Songs
No fun event would be complete without a few songs! Below are a variety of fun Turkey-based songs set to kids’ favorite tunes, including the “Turkey Hokey Pokey” and “Did You Ever See A Turkey?” Song lyrics are courtesy of The Little Giraffes’ Teaching Ideas website and the Mandell School in NYC.
